Most Wanted Work from Home Courses

Most Wanted Work from Home Courses

Thank you! I would love to blog but feel too intimidated…a little scared I won’t understand, or I will fail, or it will be too hard. I just might take that free blogging course!!!!!

Thanks for such a great list! I’m going to have to check some of these out.

Is a lack of a specific skill holding you back? If you are looking to bust through your work at home barriers, here are several sites offering online courses that may help you work from home. You won’t obtain a degree or diploma, but it may be just enough to get you on the path to success.

Free Online Courses

Craftsy – I love this site for upping your crafting game. They offer several free courses in the photography, baking, and sewing categories. Their Block of the Month club is always popular.

Adobe Know How – If web design is your thing, look no further than this site for free courses on Photoshop, Dreamweaver, HTML and more. More advanced courses are also available for a fee.

Alison.com – This site features certified free classes on everything from plumbing to business communication to photography and more. Over 600 courses are available.

Microsoft Virtual Academy – Here you can learn how to use not only Microsoft products but also skills like HTML5 and CSS. Most courses are self-paced though live events are also available.

Udemy – This site has thousands of courses available on just about everything. Some are free. Some are paid. One thing I like about Udemy is that they vet every program for quality standards and there is a review system in place. You can see not only how many people have taken the course but also what they have to say about it.

GCF Free – As the name implies, everything is free here. You can learn skills from how to use a mouse to Excel formulas. This site is likely suitable for beginners on a subject, but I don’t know that the courses would work for an advanced user.

Not Free, But I Highly Recommend

CareerStep – This is the place to get accredited training in the popular work at home fields of medical transcription, billing and more. Tuition assistance and monthly programs are available.

30 Days or Less to Freelance Writing Success – Gina provides a thorough course on starting a freelance writing business. She has several course levels available to meet any budget.

Amazon Boot Camp – The Amazon FBA program has opened so many possibilities for online resellers. Jessica was able to create a full-time income for her family in just a few short months, so much so that her husband was able to quit his job to come to work for the online business as well.

Transcribe Anywhere – There is a big demand for remote transcriptionists, and the need keeps growing. Bloggers need their podcasts and live streaming events transcribed. Doctors, lawyers and insurance agents use transcription services as well. This course will help you get started and get your food in the door.

Building a Framework – This is a great, inexpensive course for those just getting started on their blogging journeys. It covers everything from setting up your blog to getting traffic and making money.

Elite Blog Academy – If you want to grow your blog quickly, I highly recommend this course. I was in the inaugural class last fall and was able to triple my traffic and income in just over a month (results will vary). It’s a self-paced 12-week course with forum support available.

Craftsy – This site offers numerous courses for the creatives. Become a better photographer, crafter, baker and more. Use those new skills to make more money.

Lynda.com – Tons of video courses on just about every subject. New courses are added weekly. This one is a subscription. Get unlimited access to courses for just $25 per month. A free 10-day trial is available
