A family from Preston have revealed how they’ve spent over £20,000 on decorating their home to scare and intrigue people.

Splashing out on film-quality costumes and pneumatic props from the US to make their house into a ‘Zombie Apocalypse’ for a huge public party.

The Walton family truly ADORE Halloween.

Dad Chris commented: “We just used to decorate the house, and every year we’d do a bit more and a bit more and a bit more.”

Whilst daughter Frankie couldn’t pick a favourite item speaking on This Morning, she said: “It’s really hard to choose, there’s so many good pieces.

We have a special Victorian that was made by my grandparents. All the creepy graves and creepy leaves.”

She went on to defend her families festive tradition, with many households now feeling Halloween has become too scary for kids, she added: “One of the great things about Halloween is we get to meet the neighbours, which is something we wouldn’t do on the other days of the year.

“Lots of the families come round and have a look all around the house, it’s really nice.

“Halloween can be a great fun time for family and those who don’t get involved can’t ignore that.”

Why do they do it?!

Well the family don’t make any cash from the extravaganza, but instead, they donate any cash they get to charity.

Dad Chris noted: “People can come in for free but we ask for donations, and our chosen charity this year is Cancer Research.

“This year is the first time we’re using pneumatic props rather than electric ones, so we can control the speed and ferocity.

“Strangely it is tends to be the clowns that scare people most of all.”
